Hotel recognizes Earth Day with a celebration
In celebration of Earth Day, The Crowne Plaza Hotel at Bell Tower will host an Earth Day Party for guests and clients on Wednesday.
The hotel will also participate in a Bell Tower cleanup and will hold its 2nd Annual Earth Day “Cancer Can Crush.”
The activities are being coordinated to celebrate the completion of the hotel’s recent Two Palm Certification by the Florida Green Lodging Program.
The Earth Day Party and reception will be held in the Ballroom at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at Bell Tower from 5-7 p.m. Complimentary beverages, appetizers and an “Earth Day Cake” will be provided for hotel guests and clients.
Crowne Plaza will celebrate its Two Palm Certification status as designated by the Florida Green Lodging Program during the event. The hotel will offer guests an opportunity to view the various practices the property is using to be environmentally friendly.
On Thursday, the Crowne Plaza management and staff will plant a Florida magnolia and conduct a Bell-Tower cleanup and can collection to support their environmentally friendly mission.
The 2nd Annual Earth Day Cancer Can Crush will be held Friday with all proceeds benefiting the Crowne Plaza’s Relay for Life Team and the American Cancer Society.
Staff will take all the aluminum cans that have been collected in the past weeks to the parking lot to crush them and prepare them for recycle turn in.
Last year’s Cancer Can Crush raised more than $250.
“We are committed to helping the environment every way we can,” said Jim Larkin, general manager of the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Fort Myers. “Our fun events and Two Palm Certification are just more ways for us to do our part.”
