Discounts books to benefit children
The Gateway to the Islands Kiwanis Club has recruited 34 restaurants in Lee County to offer dining discounts for $20 that started Tuesday and run through Dec. 15.
A few restaurants featured in the “Delicious Dining Discounts” book include Biddles, Blarney Stone, Ichabod’s, LaMotta’s, Lighthouse, Metropolitan, Parrot Key, South Beach Grille, Sunshine Seafood and Thai Tamarind.
All profits from the book will go back to help local children and the community.

Kiwanis is a global service organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.
The club is looking for more service-minded individuals and business professionals who would like to make an impact on the community through volunteering.

Company merges two retail locations
Scott Fischer Enterprises, formerly known as Motorsports Solutions, recently consolidated two of its retail locations, Cape Motorsports and West Coast Motorsports.
All products and personnel will now be located at 1855 Boy Scout Drive in Fort Myers and can be reached at 275-5535.
The arrangement was done in preparation for the company’s transition into a 50,000-square-foot retail center on Colonial Boulevard, adjacent to Harley-Davidson/Buell of Fort Myers.

Cache opens at Bell Tower Shops
Cache, a retailer of women’s sportswear and dresses, has opened its newest location at Bell Tower Shops.
Targeting style-conscious women from 25-45, Cache has 293 stores in 43 states, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
The 2,000-square-foot Bell Tower Shops location, managed by Elaine Freitas, is located along the Saks Fifth Avenue corridor and most easily accessed from the entrance near Bacchus.
Cache offers a broad mix of sophisticated, upscale high fashion apparel and accessories from European and domestic designers, many exclusive to Cache. The store is also a destination for holiday, prom and other special event outfits.

Home-Tech staffers receive certification
Home-Tech’s fleet of 26 repair technicians, servicing air conditioning customers in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Manatee and Sarasota counties, have received the North American Technician Excellence Inc. certification.
Each of Home-Tech’s technicians holds four certifications including air conditioning installation and service and heat pump installation and service.
NATE-certified technicians are skilled professionals who have proven their knowledge in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and commercial refrigeration industry by passing specialized NATE certification tests, the only test supported by the entire air conditioning and refrigeration service industry.
It only took two years to get all of the Home-Tech technicians trained and tested by NATE.
Home-Tech offers continuous technical training and an apprentice program to train technicians in the Home-Tech standards of repair at their state-of-the-art training facility.
Home-Tech technicians attended as much as 40 hours of classroom instruction in addition to their regular training requirements to earn NATE certification.
NATE is an independent, third-party nonprofit certification body for heating, ventilation and air conditioning and commercial refrigeration technicians.
