Synovus joins Publix Presto! ATM Network
Synovus Bank, headquartered in St. Petersburg, recently became part of the Publix Presto! ATM Network. Customers can now access more than 1,000 ATMs free-of-charge across the Synovus affiliate five-state footprint, including Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Florida and Tennessee.
Presto! is owned by the Publix grocery store chain, and has a geographic footprint consistent with locations of Synovus affiliate banks. Customers can now make surcharge-free transactions, including cash withdrawals, balance inquiries and transfers between accounts.
Synovus Bank serves customers through 26 banking centers in Charlotte, Collier, Hillsborough, Lee, Pasco, Pinellas, Manatee and Sarasota counties.
Durnwald named top wealth manager
For the third consecutive year, Richard Durnwald of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network was selected by Gulfshore Life magazine as a 2009 FIVE STAR: Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Managers.
The group of 168 represents less than 5 percent of the wealth managers in Southwest Florida. The regional lifestyle magazine partnered with Crescendo Business Services, an independent research firm, to identify the “best in client satisfaction” wealth manager serving the area.
Crescendo surveyed by mail and phone 23,000 high-net-worth residents and Gulfshore Life subscribers throughout Southwest Florida. An additional 2,400 surveys were distributed to leaders of financial service industry companies.
Recipients were asked to select wealth managers whom they knew through personal experience, and to base their evaluations on nine criteria: customer service, integrity, knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives, post-sale service, quality of recommendations and overall satisfaction.
Wealth managers were reviewed for regulatory actions, civil judicial actions and customer complaints as reported by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, as well as other regulatory agencies. Prior to finalizing the list, they were reviewed by a panel of professionals within the financial services industry.

Quail West Golf & Country Club sold
QW 2009, a partnership of four local businessmen, has completed the purchase of Quail West Golf & Country Club and are making plans to continue development of the 1,180-acre Naples community.
Quail West is located east of Interstate 75 between Bonita Beach Road and Immokalee Road.
