Small business networking event set for April 16

The Southwest Florida Small Business Resource Network will host a networking event to learn about small business resources in the community 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, April 16 at Estero Embassy Suites Hotel, 10450 Corkscrew Commons Drive in Estero.

The event is a monthly meeting for the Southwest Florida SBRN sponsored by Florida Gulf Coast’s Small The meeting theme is “All About the Free Counseling Services Offered by FGCU’s Small Business Development Center.” Facilitator for the evening is Suzanne Specht, assistant director for the Small Business Development Center. She will share several success stories of how the center helped area businesses grow.

State certified SBDC analysts describe their areas of business expertise and explain the various free counseling services they provide. Speakers include Specht Finance and Business Planning; Julio Estremera, Certified Business Analyst (CBA) Financial Planning, Restaurants and Bilingual; Dan Telep, CBA Procurement and Technical Assistance, Doing Business with the Federal Government; Tor Ostensen, CBA Doing Business with Lee County; Judith Pultro, CBA Operations Management, Planning and Marketing.

Following the meeting is the Resource Network’s monthly “Network After Five” social event where members have the opportunity to network and exchange ideas for growing their businesses.

Deadline for registration is Tuesday, April 14. Cost for SBRN members is $15 per person for hors d’oeuvres. Guest fee is $20. Small business owners who register for the event in advance are welcome to attend for free.
