Cut-a-thon to benefit Animal Refuge Center
Shotzie & Co. Hair Design, 4711 Coronado Parkway, will hold a cut-a-thon from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. April 19 to benefit the Animal Refuge Center, a no-kill shelter in North Fort Myers.
Prices for the second annual fund-raiser is a $20 donation for “human” hair washes and cuts. Manicures or facials cost $10.
The event will also feature a silent auction, raffles and a 50/50 drawing. Live music will be provided by Straight From the Tap.
Food and drinks will be available, and the Animal Refuge Center will be on hand with animals available for adoption.
Jacob Meyer joins Management Group 1
Jacob Meyer has joined the sales and marketing team at Management Group 1 as general manager. He will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the property management and resale division.
Meyer is a licensed Realtor and brings many years of property management and residential sales experience to the Fort Myers-based real estate firm. Most recently, he worked as a purchasing agent in the construction industry.
A graduate of the University of Florida, he resides in Cape Coral with his wife, Megan.

J.L. Wallace Inc. has been awarded a contract by SunTrust Corporate Real Estate for the renovation of the SunTrust Bank branch at 4415 Metro Parkway in Fort Myers.
The project will include the installation of new ceilings, flooring and lighting in the existing 4,081-square-foot building. David Grossman will serve as project manager.

Elmquist Eye Group now prescribes Latisse, the first and only FDA-approved treatment of its kind for hypotrichosis, a medical term for inadequate or too few eyelashes.
Available by prescription only, Latisse, which is new to the market, is a solution used to treat hypotrichosis by growing new eyelashes and making them thicker, longer and darker.
Latisse is believed to affect the growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways – first, by increasing the length of the phase, and second, by increasing the number of hairs.
Latisse is applied once a day to the base of the upper eyelashes with an applicator. Results are typically seen in 4-16 weeks.
