The Bonita Springs, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach, Lehigh Acres, Pine Island, Sanibel-Captiva and Hispanic Chambers of Commerce have formed the Lee County Alliance of Chambers.

The role of the Alliance will be to serve three primary goals; sharing best practices, advocacy for business and furthering the economic development of our area. The Alliance of Lee County Chambers is open to paid chamber executives of not-for-profit Chambers of Commerce within Lee County.

The Alliance will embark on its first collaborative effort as they head to Tallahassee on Tuesday, March 24 26, to bring the voice of the business community to state legislators. The attendees of the trip include presidents/executive directors of local Chambers of Commerce and their key volunteers, business leaders from across Lee County and elected officials.

Befoe departure the Charter members of the Alliance will sign a memorandum of understanding which outlines the goals of the organization.

The spokesperson for the group is Marietta Mudgett, executive director of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce. Marietta has been the executive director of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber for 19 years.

“The formation of the Alliance of Lee County Chambers brings together these business organizations in an unprecedented manner. The ability to marshal the strength of our combined memberships will only serve to fortify our local economy.” Mudgett said in a prepared statement released this morning.

The Alliance of Lee County Chambers will meet monthly; plans to host quarterly roundtable events to discuss important regional business issues and will continue to coordinate Lee County Days in Tallahassee.
