Slow Food Southwest Florida to host second Greenmarket

The Slow Food Southwest Florida Greenmarket returns to Robb & Stucky Interiors in Fort Myers from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 28, with a wealth of fresh, local, sustainable and organic foods and merchandise for sale.

Robb & Stucky, the premier interior design and home furnishings company, is once again hosting this unique event and its exclusive offering of fresh, organic produce, seafood, jams, salsas, preserves, and honey all locally grown, caught and cultivated. There will be eco-friendly organic soaps, artisanal cheeses and breads, gourmet coffees and Florida-friendly plants plus demonstrations by local chefs and farmers.

Among the businesses that will sell products at the Greenmarket are Andy’s Island Seafood, Back to Basics, ECHO Nursery, 55 Degrees Cool Wine & Cheese, Happy Body Organic Soaps, Lee County Bee Association, Paradise Garden Jams and Preserves, Rabbit Run Farm and Worden Farm. There will be prepared foods from a variety of vendors as well as some exciting additions, including Pine Island Growers with organic produce and locally grown plants and citrus trees as well as a professional woodworker selling handmade garden tables and produce baskets.

In keeping with Slow Food’s commitment to education, there will be classes and demonstrations starting at 9:30 a.m. Chefs Melissa Talmage of Sanibel’s Sweet Melissa’s on Sanibel Island and Nick Costanzo of Angelina’s in Bonita Springs will demonstrate various cooking techniques using state-of-the-art KitchenAid equipment.
