Cape Harbour announces new community opening
An opportunity to become part of Cape Harbour’s newest residential community has been announced with the first release of a select number of homes affordably priced in the high $200,000.
Named “Funky Fish Houses,” the unique waterfront neighborhood, containing a 19-home collection of multi-level single family homes, will line the seawall within the 150-acre community.
Homes will include garages under the main structure, with the neighborhood reflecting the classic and colorful Key West beach cottage style with distinctive architectural character.
Homeowners, working together with Realmark’s team of designated builders, will be able to design their new home ranging in height from one to four stories and living space from as small as 500 square feet to more than 3,000 square feet.
Will Stout, president of Realmark Development, has already drawn design plans for his new cottage home, expected to be constructed by early summer.
Architectural trim is another important aspect of design. All homes will have traditional metal roofs and encourage ample use of windows, doors and glass walls that take in the water views, Gulf breezes and natural light.
In keeping with the “funky spirit,” the architectural tapestry will be as colorful as Key West itself, reflecting the building styles and cultures of the island’s earliest settlers.
Landscaping will be minimal and limited to using indigenous species exclusive to the area.
A walkway at the water’s edge will extend through the neighborhood, leading to Cape Harbour’s many restaurants, shops, boutiques and galleries.
The Funky Fish House concept provides for a continuation of Cape Harbour’s commitment to preserve the value, character and aesthetics of the residential development community.
Cape Harbour sits on the city’s southwest section near the intersection of Chiquita Boulevard and El Dorado Parkway West.
