Bank of Florida names executive admin. manager

Fabriena Dorgan, executive administrative officer and assistant corporate secretary of Bank of Florida Corp., has been promoted to the position of vice president, executive administration manager of corporate administration.

She directs corporate and executive administration for the offices of the president and chief executive officer, chief financial officer, chief credit officer, director of risk management and director of banking.

Dorgan serves as assistant corporate secretary to the board of directors and is responsible for the coordination of annual meetings and board events for the publicly traded $1.5 billion-asset multi-bank holding company. She also oversees interior design for the bank’s financial centers.

Dorgan joined Bank of Florida Corp. in 2004. She holds a bachelor’s degree in operations management from The Ohio State University, and is a graduate of Sheffield School of Interior Design in New York City.

Bar association donates to Cape Coral Caring Center

The Cape Coral Bar Association recently donated a sizable contribution to the Cape Coral Caring Center to assist the non-profit organization in assisting people in the community who have a critical need due to the recent downturn in the economy.

In furtherance of its mission, board president Steven K. Teuber along with the board presented the donation check to executive director Fred J. Cull last week, and met formally with Julie Ferguson, operations manager of the Cape Coral Caring Center, at its February meeting to learn about the organization and how it serves our local community.

Since its inception, the Cape Coral Caring Center has helped more than 70,000 people in the community on a short-term basis.

Noble Jewelers to host fund-raiser

Noble Jewelers, 11601 S. Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers, is hosting a gold exchange fund-raiser Monday-Feb. 21 to benefit Community Cooperative Ministries Inc.

During the week, a percentage of all proceeds from gold and silver that is brought into the store will be donated to Community Cooperative Ministries Inc.

The store has held similar fund-raisers for other community organizations with great success. A recent gold exchange held at Lee Memorial Hospital raised more than $8,700.

Community Cooperative Ministries Inc. serves Fort Myers and Lee County, including Bonita Springs, Cape Coral and Lehigh Acres, and is the umbrella agency for the Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, Senior Transportation, Montessori Preschool of Dunbar and Family and Homeless Services.

First American Bank joins FDIC program

To provide customers with the added peace of mind that their accounts are secure, First American Bank has announced its participation in the FDIC’s voluntary transaction account guarantee program.

The program guarantees full deposit insurance coverage of non-interest bearing transaction accounts with no dollar restrictions through Dec. 31. This is in addition to the standard FDIC insurance previously increased to $250,000 per depositor also through the end of the year.
