Hurley named group director

1 min read

Johnson Engineering has named Christine Hurley, AICP, certified planner, as the new director of the Planning and Landscape Architecture Group in succession of Patricia Newton, who after more than two decades of service to the company, is transitioning into retirement.

Hurley joined Johnson Engineering as a principal planner in 2008 in anticipation of Newton’s retirement. The two have been working collectively to ensure a smooth transition of responsibility.

Hurley brings more than 23 years of management experience in public and private sector planning, design and permitting, comprehensive and land use planning, community involvement, and extensive knowledge of the State of Florida Growth Management and Comprehensive Planning, making her the logical choice to fulfill this position.

Founded in 1946, Johnson Engineering provides a complete range of services in planning, landscape architecture, land development, surveying and mapping, transportation, utilities, water resources, environmental consulting, and geographic information systems. With more than a half century of local experience, one of our strongest assets is our comprehensive knowledge and familiarity with the Southwest Florida region and our ability to apply this to projects throughout the state.
