In the holiday spirit, LCEC employees made two special deliveries and two melodic visits Friday.

Through the Salvation Army, LCEC employees donated toys and clothes for the children and food for nine Southwest Florida families. Additionally, employees bought gifts and created care packages for resident patients at the Salvation Army Medical Unit.

More than 100 gifts were collected and more than $500 was raised by individuals throughout LCEC for the cause.

Since Friday, Nov. 14, employees have been pulling ornaments from special “giving” trees set up around the office. Each ornament named contribution requests for purchase and donation to our families. Even before the ornaments actually made it to the trees, there were only a few gifts left for employees to grab.

Generous employees in some departments at LCEC requested to adopt entire families together. Design and Engineering Assistant Tammy Dorsey and her co-workers are doing this.

“It seems natural to me,” Dorsey said. “We have a lot to be grateful for, so instead of exchanging holiday gifts with one another, we decided to sponsor a family together and give to those in need.”

LCEC employees made deliveries to the Fort Myers Salvation Army locations on Dec. 19 and are also set to do so today, Dec. 20.

In addition to spreading holiday cheer to the Salvation Army, several LCEC employees donned Santa hats and went a-caroling Friday.

Joyful stops included two assisted living facilities in Cape Coral, Pondella Serenity and Juniper Village.
