Bimini East and improvements to Cape Coral Parkway will be among the updates presented to Cape Coral City Council, sitting as the Cape Coral Community Redevelopment Agency, on Wednesday.

The update for the Bimini East project includes 43 total sites for demolition – 23 that are fully demolished and three active sites for demolition.

An amendment will be presented at a Cape Coral City Council meeting on April 2 for four additional parcels that were purchased after the original demolition contract was approved. The amendment cost is $182,538, plus a 10% controlled contingency of $18,253.80 for a total of $200,791.80.

On Aug. 7, Council approved resolutions for an interlocal agreement between the CRA and city for the purchase of the property within the eastern portion of the Bimini Basin District, which was approved with Bimini Centre of Cape Coral, LLC and TCJBM, LLC for a contract price of $40,089,504. The city closed on the original properties on Oct. 4.

Honc Demolition was awarded a contract on Dec. 4 for $1,617,853 with a 10% controlled contingency for a total of $1,779,638.30.

The Cape Coral Parkway additional lanes plan is at 30% completion. To get to 100% blueprints for six-laning, findings report, data validation and comparison and refinement of time-space diagram need to be completed.

The reports from staff also include updates on CRA Code Compliance and CRA Project.

The consent agenda includes Resolution 5-25, which deals with fire suppression systems expanding the eligible expenditures for the Breaking Barriers to Business Grant Program.

The board will also discuss event sponsorship application approval for Red White & Boom! and the 2025 Touch A Truck – EHL Fragile X Foundation.

The CRA meeting will be held Wednesday, March 12, at 9 a.m. in Council Chambers, 1015 Cultural Park Blvd. The meeting is open to the public.
