Scheduled water main shutdown fro Everest Parkway rescheduled

A scheduled potable water main shutdown on Everest Parkway has been rescheduled for Monday, Oct. 3 at 9 a.m. in an abundance of caution due to a tropical storm possibly affecting the city of Cape Coral next week.

The work was originally scheduled for Monday, Sept. 26.

City crews will be replacing a valve, piping, a fire hydrant tee and installing a new fire hydrant. The shutdown will affect around 481 customers, and work should be completed by the mid-afternoon the same day,city officials said.

Residents who will be affected will be notified via phone, email, text message, and door tags.

Following the restoration of access to drinking water, we advise users to boil water for one minute or use bottled water as a precaution until the advisory has been lifted. This notification applies to water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, washing dishes, and brushing teeth.
