Steinke, Culliton leading in District 1; Nelson, Cummings leading in District 4

With 24 of 26 precincts reporting Bill Steinke and Carol Rae Culliton are leading the race for the Cape Coral City Council District 1 seat while Jennifer I. Nelson and Patty L. Cummings are leading in District 4.
Steinke has 12,802 votes of 45.29 percent; Culliton has 7,062 votes or 24.98 percent in a four-way non partisan race that also features Jean Pierre Etcheverry Jr. and Ally Wharton.
Nelson has 12,692 votes, of 44.81 percent; Cummings has 7,946 votes or 28.05 percent in a three-way non-partisan race that also features Joshua Clark, who is running tight for the No. 2 slot. Clark has 7,688 or 27.14 percent with two precincts still to be counted.
The top two vote-getters in each race will advance to the Nov. 8 General Election.
