Upcoming candidate events include:

• A debate for District 1 candidates for Cape Coral City Council will be held Monday, Aug. 8, at the Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library.

Doors will open at 4 p.m. and the event will be livestreamed on The Cape Coral Watchdog Facebook.

The Cape Coral Library is at 921 S.W. 39th Terrace (off of Mohawk Parkway next to the Wal-Mart).

The Haitian-American Community Coalition of SW Florida will present a Candidate Meet & Greet on Sunday, Aug. 14.

The event will take place from noon to p.m. at the First Haitian Baptist Church of Fort Myers.

Attendees are invited to sit, talk and ask questions of the candidates.

First Haitian Baptist Church of Fort Myers is at 3106 Broadway.

The public is invited.

Candidates are asked to RSVP by Aug. 7.
