72 citations issued in ‘Operation Southern Slow Down’

The Cape Coral Police Department conducted part one of a grant-funded traffic saturation operation on Tuesday, issuing 72 citations as part of “Operation Southern Slow Down.”

Funding was provided by the Florida Department of Transportation and its Aggressive Driving grant.

This operation was conducted citywide and resulted in 62 moving citations, including 30 for speeding and 25 for violating a traffic control or signal device. Four arrests were made.

The detailed results are as follows:

No drivers were cited for a seatbelt violation. The CCPD asks everyone to “Please remember to always wear your seatbelt!”
