Cape police looking for burglary suspect
Cape Coral police are asking for the public’s help identifying a burglary suspect, officials reported.
On May 4, officers were dispatched to 618 N.E. Juanita Court for a burglary in progress. The victim stated that earlier in the day while at home he walked into the garage and saw a white possibly Hispanic man in his garage.
Upon confronting the man, the man asked the victim if he fixed four-wheelers. During their brief conversation, the victim mentioned that he noticed that his Craftsman backpack leaf blower was in the backseat of the male`s vehicle.
Once confronted about the leaf blower, the victim stated that the man got into his newer model grey Nissan car and headed northbound on Northeast Juanita Court in an attempt to flee the neighborhood. The vehicle had a Florida tag, possibly with the first two digits being “96” or “69.”
The victim stated that he got into his Dodge pickup and began to look for the suspect`s vehicle.
The victim stated he located the suspect’s vehicle, which sideswiped his truck on the drivers` side, approximately 10 feet west of Northeast Sixth Street and Northeast Second Place. The victim stated the man continued westbound on Northeast Sixth Street at a high rate of speed and left the area.
