Operation Medicine Cabinet held on Pine Island

On Thursday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Lee County Sheriff’s Office held an Operation Medicine Cabinet event on Pine Island. Deputies set up in front of the CVS Pharmacy located in the Winn-Dixie Plaza on Stringfellow Road where we collected:

Pills – 11,139

Ointments/Creams – 5

Patches – 65

Syringes – 11

Inhalers – 20

Liquids – 120

Powders – 104

Thursday’s event featured representatives from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Unit, Senior Services Unit, Evidence Unit and Gulf District, as well as Abby Services providing free blood pressure readings.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Florida Crime Prevention Association, Abby Services, and CVS Pharmacy for “Operation Medicine Cabinet”, the latest installment of the Pharmaceutical Take Back Program.
