Chaplain now on staff at Gulf Coast Village
Tom Hafer is now the chaplain at Gulf Coast Village, announced the community’s executive director, Kevin Ahmadi.
The chaplain services are part of Gulf Coast Village’s mission to continue to expand its Living Well wellness program which addresses the six aspects of wellness which include: physical, social, intellectual, emotional, vocational and spiritual. Hafer will administer to Gulf Coast Village residents and staff.
Hafer is the author of “Faith and Fitness” (an Augsburg Books bestseller, 2007). This book touts the benefits of living well through simple physical and spiritual integrated practices. He is a registered physical therapist and a nationally certified athletic trainer.
Hafer also holds a master of arts in religion from the Lutheran Theological Seminary of Philadelphia. Services offered at Gulf Coast Village will be non-denominational or ecumenical in nature.
Hafer will be commissioned and ordained by Gulf Coast Village sponsor, Volunteers of America. VOA is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit faith-based organizations, dedicated to helping those in need reach their full potential and rebuild their lives. They have continued to provide quality, affordable housing for seniors and professional long-term health care for communities.
