Fourth suspicious fire breaks out on Tarpon Court
The Cape Coral Fire Department responded to a fourth suspicious fire at 4825 Tarpon Court early this morning. At 1:10 a.m., 911 Dispatch received a call reporting a residential structure fire. Fire crews arrived to find Unit D on the second floor of the complex on fire.
Reports indicate firefighters extinguished the fire within minutes. Unit B on the first level sustained water damage.
According to city officials, the State Fire Marshal responded to the scene and is treating this fire as suspected arson of an occupied structure.
The three other units in the complex were evacuated, and residents were encouraged to find other living arrangements for the remainder of the night and until they feel safe to return.
Fire investigators are asking anyone who has any information on the person or persons involved in the four suspicious fires at 4825 Tarpon Court to please call the Arson Hotline at 1-877-662-7766. Tips that lead to the identification of the person are eligible for a $2,500 reward.
Three other fires occured at the same address last week, two Wednesday a small fire in front of the building and later the carport, and one Friday when the car was burned.
