Police: Hostage situation at Cape home
Local law enforcement agencies are responding to a hostage situation at a home in southwest Cape Coral.
At 2:45 p.m. Friday authorities received a disturbance call from a neighbor regarding a home at 1511 S.W. 24th Ave. Officials have confirmed it is a hostage situation, though the names and ages of those involved have not been released.
City spokesperson Connie Barron said snipers from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office have been called to the scene because snipers from the Cape Coral Police Department are out. Officers from the Florida Department of Transportation have also responded.
