Cape Police to unveil “The Protector” statue

The Cape Coral Police Department will unveil a new statue, “The Protector,” at the plaza of the police headquarters Friday, Sept. 11, at 10:30 a.m. Cape Coral Police Chief Rob Petrovich will be joined by council members, police officers and city staff, along with representatives from Brodin Studios, the statue designer.

“The Protector” is cast in bronze and seated on a black granite base. The statue is a nearly life-sized replica of a police officer. The statue weighs 700 pounds. The black granite base and wall panels were donated in part by Coral Ridge Cemetery and Dignity Memorial.

TIB bank also will be participating in remembering the heroes of 9-11 by providing lunch to all public safety personnel at the unveiling.
