Car strikes Lee County School bus
At 7:10 this morning, law enforcement officers responded to an accident on Lee Boulevard, just east of Lee Street, in Lehigh Acres. Acording to a report from the Florida HIghway Patrol, the accident occurred when an auto struck the side of a Lee County School bus.
The report states that Louis J. Strianese, 19, of Lehigh Acres, driving a 1995 four-door Mazda, and a Lee County School bus were both travelling east on County Road 884 (Lee Boulevard) when Strianese reportedly fell asleep, swerved right and up on the sidewalk portion of the roadway. The left portion of Strianese’s car struck the right side of the bus, which was driven by Bonnie Primicile of Punta Gorda.
No injuries were reported.
According to the FHP, the accident caused $2,500 damage to Strianese’s vehicle and $1,000 to the bus. Strianese was cited for careless driving.
