The Cape Coral Youth Crime Intervention Program will be hosting a “Fish for the Fund” charity fishing tournament to benefit the Cape Coral Police Athletic League. The event will be Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Marina at Cape Harbour.

“Fish for the Fund” is an all catch-and-release tournament for the heaviest total weight of redfish, snook and trout. Fishing hours will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and weigh-in scales will be located at Cape Harbour docks. The cost is $75 per person, and a maximum of three people per boat can enter the tournament.

The event also will include a silent auction with items donated by tournament sponsors. Tournament cash pay-outs and prizes also are donated by the sponsors. Deadline for entry is September 18 at 8 p.m.

The Cape Coral PAL Chapter was established in November 2007. PAL is a volunteer effort funded by donations and sponsorships. Proceeds from the “Fish for the Fund” Tournament will be used to provide activities, supplies and equipment for all area youth.

Any businesses or individuals who would like to participate in the tournament (sponsorships are welcome) can contact Cindy Dennison at 574-0675 for more information.
