Silver alert issued for endangered missing adult
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating an endangered missing adult.
Josef Krismanits, 81, was last seen at his residence at 19475 Sun Air Court in North Fort Myers at approximately 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 31. According to his wife, Krismanits was supposed to get a hair cut at Prime Cut at 905 Pondella Road in North Fort Myers but never showed up there. Krismanits left his residence in his pearl white 2000 Lincoln SL bearing Florida tag G69-9DY and was last seen wearing a light green polo shirt, khaki shorts, white socks and tennis shoes. He is approximately 5-foot-11, weighs 170 pounds with slightly graying black hair.
Krismanits’s wife says he was diagnosed with dementia two months ago. His wife says Krismanits has never left the residence for several hours without returning or contacting her to let her know his location.
Krismanits has his wallet with about $40 in currency and a Visa card. That card was used to purchase gas in Punta Gorda at approximately noon on Aug. 31 and then again about 6 hours later in Inverness, Fla. The family closed the account at that point. A purchase was attempted in Crescent City, Fla., but was denied.
Investigators are trying to determine if it was Josef making and attempting to make these purchases. Krismanits does not have a cell phone with him.
