Traffic stop, follow-up investigation yields thousands in cocaine
Shortly after midnight on July 29, 2009, Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies patrolling in the area of Magnolia Drive and Bayshore Road, North Fort Myers, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving without any tail lights. According to reports, deputies made contact with the driver of the vehicle, Kristy M. Pastore, 27, and the passenger, James Derisma, 33.
During the traffic stop, a search of the vehicle was conducted that resulted in the discovery of more than a kilo of cocaine containing a street value of nearly $30,000, reports state.
Due to the nature of the incident, detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit assumed the investigation. Both Pastore and Derisma were charged with trafficking less than 150 kilograms of cocaine and taken to the Lee County Jail for booking.
Following the arrests, narcotics detectives developed intelligence that led them to the location of a storage facility in Cape Coral. Investigators learned that Derisma had allegedly been using Acorn Self Storage, located at 337 N.E. Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, to store drugs and money.
On Aug. 7, Derisma reportedly arrived at the storage center just as investigators were in the process of obtaining a search warrant to enter the facility. Detectives approached Derisma and were granted consent to search his vehicle. The search revealed more than $8,000 in cash, reports state. A subsequent search of the storage facility turned up more than a kilo and a half of cocaine and an additional $25,000 in U.S. currency.
Derisma was arrested again and transported to the Lee County Jail. Due to the circumstances surrounding the incident, he was placed in federal custody.
With Derisma incarcerated, investigators continued to monitor individuals he associated with and conducted surveillance on his known safe houses. This continued surveillance resulted in another arrest of Pastore, and the arrest of Anthony William Lane, 21. Both individuals were reportedly seen together transporting more than a quarter kilo of crack cocaine from Derisma’s last known residence, located at 8346 Nault Drive, North Fort Myers.
During the week of Aug. 17, both Pastore and Derisma were federally indicted for trafficking cocaine. The state of Florida has charged Lane with trafficking less than 150 kilograms of cocaine.
Pastore’s last known address is listed as 8346 Nault Drive, Fort Myers.
Lane’s last known address is listed as 1208 S.E. 19th Lane, Cape Coral.
