Lovegrove, Haffner team up for 9-11 commemorative
Do you remember where you were when the first tower at the World Trade Center fell on Sept. 11, 2001? How did you feel? Have the events of that day started to fade from the consciousness of Americans?
Two people who haven’t forgotten are Matlacha artist Leoma Lovegrove and video producer Mark Haffner. They plan to use their artistic gifts to commemorate those who died on Sept. 11 and to salute those who showed courage and dedication in rescue efforts. They invite members of the public to become a part of this special performance of Painting Out Loud with Leoma Lovegrove.
In preparation, Haffner will film those who wish to offer recollections or commentary about Sept. 11. These short videos, along with patriotic music, will inspire Lovegrove as she paints live a gigantic American flag before an audience. Filming will be done at Broadway Palm Theater on Aug. 21 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. .If you wish to participate, please call 239-839-9558 to schedule a time.
The live event will be at Broadway Palm Dinner Theater, Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, on Sept. 11, from 10-11:30 a.m,. and free to the public.
