Governor, state officials to visit Fort Myers-area school

1 min read

Florida Gov. Charlie Crist will be visiting Gateway Elementary School in Fort Myers Friday for an H1N1 (swine) flu media briefing. The time for gathering is 3 p.m. at the school, located at 3280 Griffin Drive.

Joining Crist will be Florida Education Commissioner Eric Smith, Surgeon General Ana Viamonte Ros, Director of Lee County Department of Health Dr. Judith Hartner, Superintendent of Schools Dr. James Browder and Gateway Elementary School Principal Nancy Adams and others

As the 2009/10 school year approaches, school districts across Florida are making their usual preparations with an added one this year dealing with the swine flu virus. To bring attention to these efforts – and what every citizen can do to help limit the next wave of the illness – Crist and the other state officials are visiting school districts to discuss the plans and precautions being implemented.
