FMPD searching for robbery suspect

The Fort Myers Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating an individual wanted in connection with two robberies. Police are looking for James Nelson, 26, last known address 5454 Eighth Ave., Fort Myers.
The first incident occurred on July 18 at the Dollar Tree located at 9371 Six Mile Cypress Parkway. One person got out of a car and demanded money from the store manager. The suspect shot her before fleeing. The second incident occurred on July 23 in the 9800 block of Bernwood Place Drive. The victim was struck in the head with a firearm.
The suspect fled in the victim’s vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call FMPD at 239-321-7700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
