Deputies investigate robbery at store
Today at approximately 2:44 a.m., the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a robbery that just occurred at the Walgreens located at 12749 South Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers. Deputies responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, deputies learned an employee was working in the front of the business as a male and female entered. Both individuals concealed their faces. The male displayed a four-inch knife and demanded cash. The victim complied by opening the cash register and relinquishing an undisclosed amount of cash. The male suspect also reached behind the counter during the robbery and removed a carton of Marlboro cigarettes. Meanwhile, the female suspect stood watch at the front door. Both robbers took flight in an unknown direction.
The male suspect is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with dark eyes and wearing a black tank top with black baggy pants and black tennis shoes. He used a black shirt to cover his face. The female was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, purple medical scrubs, white tennis shoes and used a dark colored shirt to cover her face.
