Santa Barbara Boulevard lane changes for Monday

2 min read

Starting Monday, motorists should be on alert for a shift in traffic to the east side of Santa Barbara Boulevard from just south of Kamal Parkway to just south of Gleason Parkway. Travel lanes on the west side of the road will be closed to motorists, which will reduce northbound and southbound traffic on Santa Barbara to one lane.

In addition, the temporary closure of Southwest 28th Terrace is necessary for crews to construct the west side of Santa Barbara. Motorists are advised that left turns from side streets onto Santa Barbara are not permitted during the construction.

Motorists traveling northbound or southbound on Santa Barbara may access Southwest 28th Terrace via Southwest 31st Terrace, north to Santa Barbara Place and west onto Southwest 28th Terrace.

Advance warning signs, electronic message boards and barricades will be used to assist those traveling through the area. Construction is scheduled for the next several months, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

The posted speed limit is 35 mph while traveling through the work zone. Motorists are urged to use caution and to seek alternative routes whenever possible. Weather and unforeseen circumstances may cause delays.
