Sheriff’s Office investigates strong-armed robbery

On Wednesday, May 6, at approximately 12:42 p.m., the Lee County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a robbery that occurred at Mayor’s Jewelers, located at 13499 S. Cleveland Avenue (Bell Tower), Fort Myers. Investigators learned from the victim, an employee, that a white male snatched a Rolex watch, valued at nearly $30,000, out of her hand while she was showing it to him. Due to the nature of the crime, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit assumed the investigation.

After taking the watch from the employee, the suspect left the store on foot and was last seen heading west. He is believed to have entered an unknown vehicle. The suspect is described as a white male, 6-foot-2, in his mid-20s, with dark hair and a light colored beard, wearing a long-sleeved denim shirt and blue jeans.

Nobody was injured during the incident. No weapons were displayed.
