Suspicious death on Beach ruled a homicide

The death of a man found lying along the shoreline on Fort Myers Beach Saturday has been ruled a homicide.
Jamie R. Manning, 36, of Jetersville, Virginia, died from a gunshot wound, officials said this morning.
His body was found on the beach at 2:41 a.m. Saturday near 54 Ave. E.
Deputies and emergency workers had been called to the scene in reference to an unconcious person. They attempted to revive him but Manning was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy was performed and the cause of death confirmed the result of a gunshot wound.

No other details are available for release at this time, officials said.
