Lee County Sheriff’s Office investigates robbery
On Wednesday, April 22, at approximately 11:35 p.m., deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Circle K gas station, located at 780 Pondella Road, North Fort Myers, in reference to an armed robbery. Due to the nature of the crime, detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit assumed the investigation.
The victim informed investigators that a male entered the store, displaying a firearm and demanding money from the cash register. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5-feet-8, wearing dark baggy clothing, a wool hat, dark colored motorcycle gloves, with a bandana concealing his face.
He made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The store employee was not harmed during the robbery. Nobody else was present in the gas station at the time of the incident.
Investigators learned the suspect may have headed westbound on Pondella Road after leaving the Circle K. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office Aviation and K-9 Units responded to assist in investigation as deputies established a perimeter in the area, but were not successful in locating the suspect.
