Deputies investigating attempted abduction

On Thursday, March 19, at approximately 2:50 p.m., deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 4700 block of 14th St., S.W., Lehigh Acres, in reference to an attempted abduction. Members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the area to assume the investigation.

Detectives met with the victim, a juvenile female, who explained she got off a school bus in the area of Gulfview Drive and 14th Street, S.W., and began walking to her home. While walking, she was allegedly grabbed by an unknown black male, who attempted to pull her into a nearby wooded area. The victim reportedly fought back by striking the suspect several times, and was able to get away from the suspect, running to a nearby residence to call 911.

The suspect is described as a black male, in his mid-30s, 6 feet tall, 190-200 pounds, with dark skin and no facial hair. The victim also described a small mole/birthmark on his right cheek. At the time of the attack, the suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.
