Lee County Animal Services Pet Placement Partnership Program sets ‘kickoff meeting’
Lee County Animal Services will hold a Pet Placement Program “kick-off meeting” on Tuesday, March 24, from 10:30 am to noon at the Lakes Regional Library, 15209 Bass Rd., Fort Myers.
LCAS extends its invitation to individuals interested in assisting with placement of animals into approved rescue groups or approved shelters to increase adoption rates while reducing euthanasia rates.
Dr. Julie Levy of Maddie’s Shelter Medicine Program at the University of Florida will be facilitating this meeting and providing valuable information about successful partnerships in other Florida counties between animal control and non-profit rescue and animal shelters.
“These are hard times for homeless animals,” said Levy in a prepared statement. “It’s never been more important for animal shelters and rescue groups to pull together to save more lives.”
Join Dr. Levy and Lee County Animal Services as they work towards the mission of every adoptable pet receiving a loving home. Seating is limited to 25 so please make your reservation by contacting LCAS Public Information Officer, Ria Brown, at brownra@leegov.com. Due to limited seating, the organization respectfully asks that a maximum of two representatives from each rescue organization plan to attend.
