Deadline approaches for Batch 1 student school assignments
This Friday, March 13, marks the final day of the Batch 1 student sssignment period for the 2009/10 school year. Following to a cursory review of the data so far, officials with the Lee County School District are reportedly pleased with the turnout, but realize there are more students who need to participate in the process.
As of Monday, March 9, more than 12,700 applications had been processed for the Batch 1 period. Of those, more than 4,000 were done using the online option for parents.
Student assignment is a lottery, it is not a first-come, first-served procedure, so families may think they have missed out, when in fact they have the same chance to get their first or second choice of school now as the family who applied on the first day of Batch 1.
