Cape police, sheriff’s deputies team up to nab suspects

Cape Coral Police have charged two suspects for their involvement in a reported purse snatching incident Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the Neighborhood Walmart on Skyline Boulevard. According to the CCPD, Jennifer Lynn Disomma, 28, of 4333 W. 6th Ave., in Cape Coral, and Joshua James Waugh, 24, of 15802 Keygrass Lane, in Fort Myers, have been charged with robbery by sudden snatching for stealing a purse from an elderly shopper.

On Wednesday, Feb. 25, Lee County Sheriff’s Office issued an advisory on a robbery that occurred at the Walmart in Lehigh Acres. The suspects and vehicle were the same as the Cape robbery, according to police. The vehicle and suspects were located and detained by the LCSO.

During interviews conducted by Cape Det. Todd Kerns and a Lee County Sheriff’s detective, Disomma and Waugh confessed to the purse snatchings. Additional charges are pending.
