FMPD seeking “Five Most Wanted”
The Fort Myers Police Department is looking for the Fort Myers’ “Five Most Wanted.” Since the first of the year, the city has experienced four shootings resulting in the deaths of five people. Also, since the beginning of the year, FMPD has tracked 38 robberies. In 14 cases a firearm was shown, implied or used. Detectives have also investigated nine assault complaints that involved firearms.
The following people are being sought by FMPD questioning concerning local crimes:
– Johnny Wardlow, 18
– Lloyd Jones, 17
– Benjamin Cummings, 18
– John Lewis, 18
– Dominic Nealy, 18
Last year FMPD removed 342 guns from city streets and so far this year 33 guns for the month of January. The anti-crime effort is not possible without help from the community.
The Illegal Gun Bounty program provides an anonymous tip line and helps send a message that violent crime will not be tolerated in our community.
