Bushes, noted authors to appear at Celebration of Reading
Former Gov. Jeb Bush, President George H.W. Bush and Mrs. Barbara Bush will be among the special guests at the ninth annual Celebration of Reading to benefit the Family Literacy Initiatives Friday, Feb. 13, in the Great Egret Meeting Room at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs.
In addition to the Bushes, best-selling authors Steve Doocy (“Tales from the Dad Side” and “The Mr. & Mrs. Happy Handbook”), Jeffrey Engel (“The China Diary of George H.W. Bush”), Derrick Barnes (“Ruby and the Booker Boys”), A.J. Jacobs (“The Year of Living Biblically: One Man’s Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible” and “The Know It All: One Man’s Humble Quest to Become the Smartest Person in the World”) and Edna Hibel, America’s most collected female artist whose coffee table book is titled, “The Sundial Ticking,” will also be featured.
Porter Goss will make a guest appearance.
The Celebration of Reading program runs from 6 to 7:45 p.m.
The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa is located at 5001 Coconut Road in Bonita Springs.
