FMPD identifies one crash victim
Fort Myers Police have officially identified one of the victims of a single-car crash Tuesday night on McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers that left two people dead. The FMPD identified the female victim as Laura Brigner, 35.
Police are still waiting on fingerprints to officially identify the male victim in the accident.
According to the FMPD, the preliminary investigation suggested that the driver of a Chevy, two-door car was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control hitting at least two palm trees near 2439 McGregor Boulevard. The car burst into flames.
When police arrived on scene, the car was engulfed in flames with a tree through it. One person was ejected from the car and another was trapped inside. Both were badly burned and died on scene.
