Charlotte County detectives seek information on cattle rustling off I-75
Charlotte County Sheriff’s detectives are asking the public if they saw anything early Monday morning along I-75 related to cattle rustling. The brazen incident occurred along the busy interstate sometime after midnight and daybreak. Detectives say nine cows and one bull were loaded into a fifth-wheel cattle/horse trailer pulled by a truck which was parked alongside southbound I-75 between the Airport Road overpass and Jones Loop Road exit-161. The cattle thieves cut the fence to the adjacent pasture and then herded the cattle into the trailer, then drove off.
Anyone with information about the cattle rustling is asked to please call CCSO Detective Richard Nix at 941-575-5374 or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
