Portion of I-75 to close early Thursday morning
As part of its on-going project to construct the Estero Parkway Extension over Interstate 75, Lee County’s contractor ZEP Construction will be moving a crane from the median of Interstate 75 to the east side between Corkscrew Road and Alico Road beginning around 2:30 a.m. Thursday. This action will require the closure of the northbound lanes of the interstate, which will include the northbound on-ramp from Corkscrew Road to I-75.
The closure will be done with the assistance of law enforcement using a rolling roadblock beginning south of Corkscrew Road. The entire process should be completed within 30 minutes.
Motorists should avoid this section of the roadway and use alternate routes such as Three Oaks Parkway, Ben Hill Griffin Parkway/Treeline Avenue or U.S. 41 if possible.
