It’s all about the bacon
BaconFest Trolley Event Saturday in South Cape

Appetizers like these bacon accented potato bites will be available at the BaconFest Event Saturday.
For the 8th consecutive year, a universally loved breakfast side dish will be the center of attention for a sizzlin’ good time in Cape Coral this weekend.
South Cape Hospitality & Entertainment Associations’ BaconFest Trolley Event is set to depart for a night of unique drinks and bacon-flavored delectables this Saturday from 7-11 p.m.
Attendees will even have the chance to vote on their favorite drink and beverage selection to give local establishments bragging rights for the next year and some signage to display.
“We are always excited for a voting event,” said SCHEA Marketing Director Shannon Quinn. “Participating locations love the friendly competition and get creative with the drink and appetizer samples.”
Trolley-goers will get to sample a dozen varying drink and appetizer selections from participating South Cape locations. Quinn said it’s always a highlight to see what these local restaurants and bars can think up around the theme.
“It’s definitely exciting to see what new flavors and concoctions will excite the taste palettes of our attendees,” she said. “We love the creativity our locations bring to the table. This is one of our larger events so we are excited to see the reactions and votes from trolley-goers.”
Participating locations and their samples include:
– BackStreets Sports Bar – Wicked Dolphin Mango Rum Punch & Bacon Soup Shooters
– BIG8 BBQ – BBW Breakfast Shot & Bourbon Bacon Pulled Pork Sliders
– Cruisers – Mango Pomegranate Punch & Bacon Chutney Tart
– Kimber’s Wine & Cigar Lounge – Bacon Me Crazy & Bacon Cheese Pizza

– Rusty’s Raw Bar & Grill – The Lumberjack & Bacon Cheddar Croquettes

Tickets to BaconFest include a wristband for samples, passport ballot, samples at each location and much more.
The trolleys will continue on a loop all night to all locations with trivia along the way. Get your passport stamped at every location to be eligible for the grand prize — a bacon-themed gift basket.
Those who dress for the occasion and have their photo taken at the South Cape Hub (one of the stops) may win four tickets to SCHEA’s “Spooktacular” Trolley Event on Oct. 22.
Guests can check-in from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the South Cape Hub at 909 S.E. 47th Terrace, and from 6-7:30 p.m. at the hub and also Big John’s Plaza. Late check-in will take place at the hub until 10 p.m.
“We really look forward to seeing what each local business has to offer and, of course, to see which appetizer and drink samples are voted the best,” Quinn said.
“As always, we hope to introduce attendees to businesses in the CRA zone that they may not normally walk into. Our mission is to grow the awareness of South Cape businesses and to create memorable experiences that entice them to return.”
This event is 21-plus. Valid ID at check-in will be required.
Tickets are $30 with designated driver tickets at $25. Tickets are available on Eventbrite or at the South Cape Hub. Designated driver tickets include everything the normal ticket does, other than the drink sample, which can be replaced with a non-alcoholic beverage. Day-of tickets are $35 if available.
