Kenneth O’Brien has become the promoter for the Nighthawks event set for Friday, March 4, at the Moose Lodge. The Nighthawks are a blues-roots music band from the Washington, D.C., area, celebrating 50 years with this tour, he said.

“They are doing one show at the Moose Lodge on Pine Island that is open to the public. There is no cover. The Nighthawks have played with all the greats — Muddy Waters, Greg Allman was part of the band — the list goes on and on after 50 years,” O’Brien said.

According to O’Brien, in the band’s hay day, it was the most requested bar-band in America. Currently the band has released 30 albums and is working on a new one, he said.

Although the Moose Lodge is a club for members, the public will be invited to see the Nighthawks tonight, from 7:30-10:30.

“I brought them to the Moose a few times in the past, and because of COVID they haven’t been able to come lately. They’re only in Florida for 10 days and because there was a cancellation on one of their dates, we scrambled and we put it together,” O’Brien said.

The Nighthawks current band members are Mark Wenner, Mark Stutso, Dan Hovey and Paul Pisciotta.

The Pine Island Moose Lodge is at 8903 Stringfellow Road, St. James City.
