Lee County Community Band to present ‘Let Me Call You Sweetheart’ Feb. 13 at Cape Coral High School

Prepare for an afternoon of romance, show tunes and rousing marches Sunday, Feb. 13, as Lee County Community Band presents “Let Me Call You Sweetheart.” The concert is set for 3 p.m. at Cape Coral High School.

Under the direction of Richard Bradstreet, the band will perform Sousa’s “Black Horse Troop;” Hoagie Carmichael favorites, including “The Nearness of You” and “Stardust;” the theme from the movie The Cowboys, by John Williams; highlights from “Fiddler on the Roof;” and Leroy Anderson’s whimsical piece, “The Typewriter.”

The band performs six concerts between November and April; all take place at Cape Coral High School, 2300 Santa Barbara Blvd., beginning at 3 p.m. The concerts are free (donations welcome) and open to the public.

Additional concert dates are March 13 and April 10.

A legend in Southwest Florida, the 60-member adult band is comprised of career and amateur musicians and welcomes new members every year. Persons interested in joining may phone Frances Pace at 239-691-3115.
