10th Anniversary Sing Out! Messiah Choral Festival Jan. 28-29

By Staff | Jan 20, 2022

On the last weekend in January, Choral Artistry will host a 10th Anniversary celebration of its popular SingOut! SWFL Choral Festival in Fort Myers, where all community and visitor singers get to “join the chorus” (without audition) for a weekend of singing and camaraderie.

This special sing out celebration will feature the most popular choruses and solos from Handel’s “Messiah,” a much beloved work sung by choruses around the world. This theme commemorates the Symphonic Chorale’s inaugural performance “Messiah at the Mann” at Barbara Mann Hall in 2011 as well as its first “SingOut! Messiah Festival” in 2013.

The festival begins on Friday evening Jan. 28, from 7-9:30, and continues on Saturday, Jan 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The weekend will conclude with a free “Sing Out! Messiah Festival Concert” performed by the Festival Chorus with Chamber Orchestra at 7 p.m.

The festival is back again this year at the New Hope Presbyterian Church, 10051 Plantation Road, off Colonial Boulevard, in Fort Myers.

Pre-registration is required for singer participants. Registration is $50, and includes lunch on Saturday and snacks/water throughout the workshop.

For more information about Choral Artistry and Festival participation/registration, visit www.choralatistry.org, email SymphonicChorale@yahoo.com or call 239-560-5695.

Students may participate for free, but registration is still required. A $5/person discount is available for groups of 5 or more singers registering together, so come together with you choir friends.

After 10 years of performing choral music in the Southwest Florida community as the Symphonic Chorale of South-west Florida, the organization has adopted a new name, a new brand and a new vision for the future. The name has been changed to Choral Artistry to better reflect the group’s commitment to excellence in performance and support of the choral arts by uniting people and communities through choral music.
