Shorebirds, burrowing owls topics of discussion at next Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife meeting

By Staff | Feb 25, 2021

Shorebirds and owls will take the spotlight at the Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife meeting in March.

Audubon’s Brad Cornell will present an exciting program, focusing on nesting shorebird research, and the burrowing owls of Marco Island.

Cornell is currently Southwest Florida Policy Associate for both Audubon of the Western Everglades and Audubon Florida. He focuses on land use, wetlands, coastal habitats, and Western Everglades restoration to protect and recover imperiled species, especially the Florida panther, nesting shorebirds, Corkscrew’s wood storks, and Marco Island’s burrowing owls. Stay for the membership meeting to hear about CCFW’s exciting accomplishments and how you can join their mission to preserve wildlife.

The program will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, March 9, at 7 p.m. Email Lori at ccfwowl@gmail.com to register and receive Zoom passcode/link.
