The Cape Coral Arts Studio has two events planned for the month of February.

The Southwest Florida Fine Craft Guild will exhibit unique artwork at “Hands on Art” in the Cape Coral Arts Studio Gallery from Feb 5-24.

The SWFFCG is an organization of artists promoting excellence in creating one-of-a kind original artworks in a variety of media: clay, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed-media, stone and wood. The guild is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2021 as the pre-eminent group representing outstanding local 3-D artists.

SWFFCG has exhibited in February at Cape Coral Arts Studio for 19 years.

Many of the Cape Arts Studio instructors on are SWFFCG members. Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be no live reception.

The Fine Craft EXPO 2021 will be held Feb 13-14. SWFFCG members will offer mini-half day workshops to offer hands-on introductions to different techniques: glass fusing; stained glass; silver wire wrapping; copper enameling; journal making; alcohol ink tiles; metallic raku glaze technique; Pentangle; precious metal clay; mosaics; crackle raku glaze technique and Nantucket basket traditions.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the scholarship fund of Cape Coral Arts Studio for kid’s summer art camp. COVID -19 safety measures will be followed, including small class sizes, instructors, staff and students are required to wear masks, hand sanitizer will be available and surfaces disinfected.

The Cape Coral Arts Studio gallery will be open to visitors Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Rubicond Park, 4533 Coronado Parkway, Cape Coral.
