* ‘Sweet 16 Birthday Party’

Edison Mall will host a special “Sweet 16 Birthday Party” to benefit Our Mother’s Home of Southwest Florida in from 2 4 p.m.on Saturday, April 23, the Dillard’s Court .

The purpose of the event is to spread awareness and raise funds for the organization who has been making positive changes in the lives of teenage mothers and their babies since 2000.

The main event will be fashion show featuring spring/summer and prom collections from retailers throughout the mall including Rue 21, Journeys, US Polo, NY & Co., Bijoux Brigitte, Love Culture, Icing and Dillard’s. A variety of looks ranging from casual and trendy to formal prom dresses will be will be modeled on the catwalk. The show is free but all donations, raffle items and food and beverages purchased at the event will go toward Our Mother’s Home of Southwest Florida, Inc.

* Wrap the Cape in Purple to benefit Relay for Life

Team Friends is selling large purple bows as a fundraiser for the Cape Coral Relay for Life to be held in South Cape on Saturday, April 23, from noon to midnight at Four Freedoms Park

Relay Purple Bows are $3 each or 2 for $5. Buy your bows, display them at your business or home. Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
